Those who haven’t been to Germany may think it is just a beautiful country filled with beer and sauerkraut. While it is all of those things, it is so much more. And it’s very important to note that every region is considerably different than the last. (Even down to the type of beer and sauerkraut they serve).
We love to start our visits in Munich. While you’ll want plenty of free time in this pedestrian and biking friendly city, be sure to let Limitless Planet arrange a private tour for you. With such a modern city, it’s exciting to learn the history and hidden gems that only a local can share. While in Bavaria you must see Nueschwanstein Castle nestled in the Alps. The drive to the famed 19th century castle is just as beautiful as the destination.
Take time to relax and pamper yourself in the posh spa town of Baden, located in the Black Forest. This is the perfect recovery after long days of sightseeing, while sampling the local brews.
A few of our favorite towns to visit include: Weimar, home to many luminaries including Bach and Richard Wagner and the heart of German culture. Heidelberg, a city filled with museums, castles, markets and views. Nuremburg is famous for many reasons. We also happen to love their version of sausage and sauerkraut.
The Lake Constance region is a holiday paradise set around one of Europe’s largest lakes. A UNESCO World Heritage site, the most popular excursion is to the Flower Island of Mainau, filled with parks and gardens.
Since the fall of the Iron Curtain no other city in Europe has seen more change than Berlin. We encourage a visit to this dramatic destination. While most of the wall has been torn down, you can still walk the trail where it once stood. Remember, there is much more to this city and we will share it all with you!
We always recommend some time on the Main, Rhine or Danube Rivers and if you want to sail those waterways we can arrange this for you too.
